Waldie grew up on a farm in Manitoba, where he received Jesus Christ and was baptized. The first strong spiritual turn for both was the western Canadian revival of the early 1970s, focusing on repentant relationship with God and others. Sharon and Waldie also began married life together on a farm before they headed out on God's call to ministry. Three of their four children, live in Grande Prairie and one daughter lives in the Calgary area. They have 15 grandchildren.
In their many years of marriage, they've experienced life's ups and downs together, finding God always faithful. They’ve made major moves from Manitoba, to Saskatchewan, to North Carolina, to Texas, to PRBI in Sexsmith, and now to Grande Prairie. Some moves were for his education (Briercrest; Dallas Seminary [ThM], and Gonzaga University [PhD]). Waldie worked and taught at PRBI for 29 years, serving as Academic Dean for 18, and as president for 13. Both have a passion for inviting others into a relational journey with Jesus. Paul spoke to this, stating, “that I might present every man complete in Christ” (Cl 1:28).
